Note: This is a part time CONTRACT position and not permanent hire.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by UHH is to be worn
- Proof of updated required Immunizations MMR, Varicella/Zosters, Hepatitis B, Tetanus
- Negative Tuberculosis Check (TB – Mantoux Test)
- Current – Standard First Aid and CPR-
- Police clearance; including the vulnerable sector screening clearance (up-to-date)
- Caring and compassionate
- Calm under pressure
- A strong communicator
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and can easily adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Ability to travel independently to client’s location
Responsibilities/duties on a shift (but no limited to)
- Maintaining a safe, healthy and clean environment for the client and their family
- Provide companionship
- Basic housekeeping
- Laundry
- Grocery shopping and other errands
- Accompanying clients to appointments
- Basic meal planning and preparation
- Playing games
- caring for children
- pet care
- Manage small home events
- Help with running other household errands.
